    At precisely 7 p.m., a significant disturbance was reported at the 200 block of Coosa Street in Montgomery. As the Montgomery Police Department (MPD) officers arrived at the scene, they witnessed a massive altercation involving a large group of individuals. The MPD acted swiftly, detaining several individuals involved in the brawl.

    The Story Behind the Brawl

    Initial reports suggest that the brawl was instigated due to a dispute over dock space at the Riverfront Park. A pontoon boat was allegedly blocking the docking area usually reserved for the renowned Harriott II Riverboat. As tensions escalated, the situation quickly spiraled out of control.

    Hilarious Videos Surfaces Online

    A video, now being referred to as the “Montgomery Riverfront Brawl Video,” was shared on social media by Josh Moon of the Alabama Political Reporter.

    In the video, multiple white individuals can be seen engaging in a violent altercation with a Black dock worker, identified by Jasmine Williams of WSFA. The initial argument seems to occur between the Black dock worker and one white man. Suddenly, another white man intervenes, aggressively confronting the dock worker.

    The video captures heart-wrenching cries from witnesses, one of whom repeatedly yells, “Y’all help that brother!” from what appears to be the riverboat. Responding to the cries for help, a brave individual dives into the water from the riverboat in a bid to assist the man under attack.

    Aftermath and The Chair Video

    In another video clip, circulating as the “Chair Video from Riverfront Brawl,” a subsequent altercation can be seen as the Harriott II is about to dock. A video clip which is now popular as “Chair Video” is going viral. The “Chair Video shows a man hitting others with a plastic chair.

    Several individuals approach the pontoon boat, and a fresh wave of physical confrontation ensues. The intensity of the brawl peaks as, in one shocking moment, a person is seen falling off the dock into the water. MPD officers promptly arrived, bringing the situation under control and detaining multiple individuals.

    Ongoing Investigations

    As the city tries to come to terms with this shocking event, authorities are still withholding the identities of the detained individuals. The MPD stated that charges are pending as they continue to gather evidence and statements from the witnesses.

    Several participants from the brawl have been arrested by the police.
