A student killed after a clash between two student groups at the International Islamic University in Islamabad, the Islamabad deputy commissioner confirmed Thursday. 13 students were injured so far. The student killed is identified as Sayed Tufail ur Rehman, a member of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba Pakistan “A top largest student organisation of Pakistan”.
According to details, a skirmish broke out between the Saraiki Student Council and the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (two students organizations in the university) when Liaquat Baloch, a leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami, was delivering a speech at the varsity.
Some students from International Islamic University told the media that both groups used firearms during the clash which resulted the death of a student and serious injuries to other students. Thirteen students were also injured in the crash, police told to media.
A spokesperson for the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) said that Liaquat Baloch remained safe during the clash.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s chief Sirajul Haq condemned what he called an attack by “miscreants” on the education exhibition. Sirajul Haq urged Islami-Jamiat-Talaba’s activists to stay calm and be patient.
He told in a media statement that the shooter who killed the student is still hiding inside University’s hostel and Haq demanded the Islamabad administration immediately arrest the attackers. Watch his Video statement, below.
Wounded Students were immediately shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS Hospital). Rangers locked down the university and it will be closed tomorrow on Saturday, December 13, 2019.
