Beirut Explosion took the toll of Hundreds of lives on Tuesday. But there is a new life which took birth, in a nearby Labour home, seconds before the blast at Beirut port, Lebanon. St George University Hospital, where Little George took birth, is located just a couple of kilometres away from the epicentre of the blast.

BBC has shared the moments (Video) in labour room which were captured by the husband (name: Edmond) of the woman (Name: Emmanuelle) who was about to give birth a moment before Beirut explosion.

The husband was waiting to see his newborn baby right in front of the door when blast waves hit the hospital and Emmanuelle felt down on the floor along her bed. According to the interview of Edmond, each and everything in the labour room has been destroyed including the medical equipment.

“Emmanuelle was getting ready to give birth at St George’s hospital in Beirut when an explosion rocked Lebanon’s capital. Her husband Edmond captured the terrifying ordeal on camera. He feared that both his wife and their baby were badly injured. The labour ward was torn apart by the blast, leaving Emmanuelle covered in glass, in shock, and with no medication available. Her bed was moved outside. Thankfully, less than an hour later their son, George, was born. Mum and baby are both doing well, BBC reported while sharing the video and interview of Edmond.”

“As blast Waves stopped, I rushed toward my wife and helped her to come out of under a broken glass which fell on her due to shockwaves, Edmond told in his interview.”

The medical staff helped Edmond’s wife to give birth without any necessary medical equipment in the same room which was destroyed. As recent reports suggest, Baby and the mother both are doing fine.

According to Lebanese government officials, an estimated 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate stored in a warehouse at Beirut port, exploded and caused the massive destruction in the capital of Lebanon.
