According to details, On May 9, 2021, Several videos emerged on social media show David Ellefson involved in the video calls with a 17-year-old girl from Instagram, ID Edaphosauruses. Due to the nature of the leaked videos, People are calling David Ellefson “a groomer.”
Meanwhile, more of the videos shared on Twitter show, David Ellefson pleasuring himself while talking with the alleged girl on a video call. Reports suggest that he sent these videos to the girl in order to lure her into a physical relationship. Watch the video, here.

David Ellefson Issues Statement Addressing Grooming Allegations
After facing the backlash and accused of grooming, Both Ellefson and the girl issued statements calling their relationship consensual.
Megadeth bassist David Ellefson has called an online interaction with the young woman “embarrassing,” but insisted that a leaked video doesn’t tell the whole story.
Ellefson’s full statement via his Instagram account reads as follows:
“Dear Fans & Friends,
As you may or not know, some private and personal conversations and interactions have surfaced online, released with ill intention by a third party who was not authorized to have them or share them. While certainly embarrassing, I want to address it as openly and honestly as possible. As much as it’s not something I’m proud of, these were private, adult interactions that were taken out of context and manipulated to inflict maximum damage to my reputation my career and family. The other party involved has made a statement which you can see below. I thank her for doing so and hope that this clarifies that the situation was not at all as presented.

Along with his own post, Ellefson shared a statement from the young woman in question. She confirmed that the interactions took place, but insisted she wasn’t “groomed” by Ellefson:
“I’m the girl people are talking about in the posts about David Ellefson right now and I just want to tell my side of the story because people are sharing misinformation and the situation is getting out of hand without the truth being out there. Yes, those video calls did happen, but I was the one to initate them and never was I underage, I was always a consenting adult. Nothing inappropriate ever happened before that. It was all consensual, I’m not a victim and I have not been groomed in the slightest as I was the one to initiate it. I was just naive enough to record him and share it with a friend without his permission. In the end, it was all consensual and all online. I don’t know how it got to this point, but a lot of information is being left out by the people purposely trying to harm him. I would ask that anyone sharing these personal private videos or any misinformation about them to please stop.”

Megadeth, the popular American thrash metal band, announced on Monday that they were parting ways with bassist David Ellefson after he was accused of grooming an underage girl via videos and online messages.
“We do not take this decision lightly,” the band wrote on Twitter. “While we do not know every detail of what occurred, with an already strained relationship, what has already been revealed now is enough to make working together impossible moving forward.” Ellefson has denied any misconduct.
The band had previously released a statement two weeks previously which foreshadowed the firing, as screenshots of explicit messages and videos began to circulate on social media. “We are aware of the recent statements regarding David Ellefson, and are watching developments closely,” the band said. “As it relates to creativity and business, we are all familiar with one another. However, there are clearly aspects of David’s private life that he has kept to himself.
“As this situation unfolds, it is important that all voices be heard clearly and respectfully. We look forward to the truth coming to light.”
Ellefson denied the allegations on his Instagram account, which has now been made private, according to Variety, calling the messages “private, adult interactions that were taken out of context and manipulated to inflict maximum damage to my reputation, my career and family.”
He also shared a statement allegedly from the woman in the messages stating she was not underage at the time. According to the statement, the woman involved was “always a consenting adult … In the end, it was all consensual and all online.”
Ellefson, 56, co-founded the band in 1983 with guitarist Dave Mustaine. He remained with the band, one of the “big four” thrash metal groups (the others being Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer) until 2002. He rejoined the quartet, which also includes Dirk Verbeuren and Kiko Loureiro, in 2010.

Twitter gone into frenzy after watching the leaked of David Ellefson. People are criticising his actions and many are trolling him with memes. Some people are even furious over the situation and asking Megadeth to remove him from the band.

Despite the statement of David Ellefson and the girl involved with him in the leaked videos, people are angry over him because he is a married man who was cheating on his wife.
