A video emerged on social media which shows the people of a village shot a man several times until his death. Social media users claimed that video belongs to Hangu where people shot the man for raping a female child rather than handing him over to police.

People didn’t shot a man for raping a child in Hangu. The viral video on social media doesn’t belong to Hangu. The incident took place in Para Channar, where a couple was killed last year by people of their families as a part of honour killing. A woman was also killed along this man.

On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, a video emerged on social media with a caption reads as “People Shot A man and killed him for raping a female child in Hangu.”
The video became viral on social media and social media users were commenting that people are getting disappointed with the justice system and taking justice in their own hands.
Viral Video was shared by dozens of people on Facebook and Twitter and received hundreds of shares and thousands of likes and comments.
Most of the people appreciated the act committed because people in Pakistan are really desperate for justice and conviction of those involved in child abuse and murders.
After digging into the details of viral video, our fact-finding team found that the viral video is not from Hangu. This video belongs to an incident happened in Para Channar where a couple was shot and killed by several people. The incident was reported as an honour killing.
District police officer (DPO) Hangu has also confirmed that this video doesn’t belong to Hangu and no such incident took place in the town. Several Social media users from Hangu has also confirmed this.
Child abuse, rape and murder cases are growing in Pakistan day by day and the more sad thing is the conviction rate for the crimes against minors is as low as few per cent.
On 4 January 2018, a six-year-old girl Zainab Ansari was raped and murdered by a man Imran Ali who was later hanged to death in October 2018 after a massive outrage and protests against the incident.
After this incident, hundreds of child abuse cases have been reported but no conviction has happened until now.
In February 2020, a nine-year-old girl Madiha was raped and murdered in Hangu but nobody has been convicted in her rape and murder. The list of such type of cases is long and of course, people are getting desperate for justice.
