On 15 October, Tuesday night, Former Karachi police chief Shahid Hayat passes away. He was former additional inspector general (AIG) Karachi . Shahid Hayat had been suffering from cancer for a long time, admitted to it at a private hospital last night.
Shahid Hayat Educational and service Record:
Former Police Chief Shahid Hayat Khan passed the CSS examination in 1989 . He joined the civil service . He appointed the Police Service in Lahore in 1992 as ASP. In 2014, Hayat served as Director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Sindh . He also served as DIG of the Crime Investigation Department.
In 1993, Shahid Hayat was selected on a mission to the United States. When he came back from abroad in 1995 , He was posted as a sub-divisional police officer in Pak Colony, which is considered the most dangerous area of Karachi those days. During the operation against the terrorists, he was hit in theiI face with a bullet.
Illness:
In October 2016, Former Karachi police chief Shahid Hayat fell seriously ill during a visit to Nairobi, Kenya. As ,Hayat was in Nairobi as part of a delegation of the National Institute of Management, Lahore where he was attending the mandatory senior management course. He had been suffering from cancer for a long time. On Tuesday night he passed away. May his rest in peace.
