Fortnite has deleted one of the game’s most recognisable elements, constructing, as part of its newest season. With the launch of Zero Build mode, Epic appears to be making the shift a more permanent element of the experience.
The mode is a combat-focused option in which players can’t gather resources to create defensive structures; to compensate, Fortnite has added a new shield and additional mobility choices, allowing for a faster-paced game.
It claimed on Tuesday that “Zero Build mode is a pure test of weapon, item, and traversal ability.”
“Zero Build has playlists for solo, duos, trios, and squads on the Discover page. (To get to the Discover page, go to the Lobby and click on the “CHANGE” button above “PLAY!”) “In Zero Build, without construction, all players have the recharging shield as their initial line of defence.
Use ascenders to gain access to blimps or mantling to gain an advantage over your opponents. On your way to a Victory Royale, don’t forget to sprint between the covers! “
Zero Build is playable in solo, pair, trio, and squad modes, and it joins an ever-expanding array of Fortnite modes such as Creative, Impostors, and the violence-free Party Royale.
However, at the time of writing, the game’s basic battle royale mode isn’t available. The presence of a Zero Build option hints that building will be reintroduced to the game in a separate mode, although Epic has yet to reveal how or when this will happen. Meanwhile, you can see the complete list of Fortnite modifications here, which includes the addition of a large rocket launcher.
