The old map for Fortnite was a beautiful thing. It came out in September 2017, right after the free-to-play battle royale game did. But in October 2019, it was over.
The original map was in the game for ten seasons and underwent many changes. The island was plain and straightforward in the first season, but it changed a lot when the Tilted Towers update came out in the second season. Since then, Epic Games has made many changes that have made it very different.
Now that we’re in Chapter 3, many Fortnite players want the old map to come back. This article will discuss whether or not this could happen in the future.

The old map of Fortnite is a throwback.
The main reason why so many Fortnite players want the old map to come back is that they miss it. Chapter 1 is where many players started in Fortnite, and they’d love to go back there again.
This will not happen, though. This doesn’t mean that the old Fortnite map will never come back, but it does mean that it will never be the same. Many players don’t want to believe that video games have changed significantly in the last few years. Bringing back the OG island would be great, but it wouldn’t change much.
When the game first started, there was no turbo building. Also, many players didn’t know how to play and build correctly, which made the game different.
Also, it’s important to remember that Fortnite was a brand-new game at the time. Everyone was excited about it and worked hard to get that first win.
In reality, the first map for Fortnite was pretty simple and dull. It didn’t have a lot of exciting things to see, and it mainly was just fields and open spaces. This was fine when the game started, but a lot has changed since then, and structures built by players should now cover those empty fields.
The old Fortnite map would also be terrible for Zero Build modes because it doesn’t have enough natural cover.

Will the old map of Fortnite come back?
Yes, Fortnite Battle Royale’s original map will come back later. Epic Games has no reason not to bring it back, so it will almost certainly be released.
But Epic knows many players miss the old map and want it back. Because of this, the old map will come back either as a limited-time mode or as a separate map.
Fortnite Battle Royale will keep changing, and players must get used to that. In Chapter 2, Season 1, Epic decided to slow down the update rate, which caused many players to quit. This Fortnite season is now seen as one of the worst.
It would be a great idea to bring back the old map, but only if Epic keeps it. It already has and keeps changing every season.
