Are you a Fortnite player and want to know where to find Fortnite planes? After the Fortnite 22.20 update, the game’s maps were changed in several ways. Even though the spread of Chrome got a lot of attention, another small change made the news. The island now has three more platforms.
Since Chrome is becoming more popular, it seems likely that these platforms were added to give players some height. But, unlike the other venues in the game, these have a runway and a ramp at the end.
Soon, the X-4 Stormwing will be added to the game, and there’s no doubt that these platforms will be where it starts.
So, here’s where you can find Planes, also known as X-4 Stormwings or Biplanes, in Chapter 3 of Season 4.

East of Beach Bash and other Planes or X-4 Stormwings/Biplanes spots in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4
1) Launchpad (Island): East of the Herald’s Sanctum.
Launchpad island has the first of these runway platforms. It is on a small group of islands near the main island’s east coast. Since it’s far from the beach, you’ll need to be creative to get there.
Players can get to the island by using the Chrome Tornado next to the Herald’s Sanctum and redeploying their glider. Taking everything into account, this is the fastest and safest way to get there.
Players can also use the Rifts at Seven Outpost VII or Seven Outpost III to redeploy in the sky and dive towards the Launchpad island. When Motorboats are added, they can also be used to get there.
2) Shell or High Water (Landmark): Northeast of Chromejam Junction and southwest of Shiny Sound
The second place in Chapter 3, Season 4, where you can find Planes, is a little more complicated. This runway platform is stuck between Chromejam Junction and Shiny Sound, like being between a rock and a hard place.
At Shell or High Water, the best way for a player to get to the runway platform is to walk around. Wild animals that have been tamed, like boars, wolves, and chickens, can help you move faster. You can also use launch pads (items) and shockwave grenades to get a good boost to your speed.
Despite all this, players should try to land as quickly as possible at the landmark to get a plane. Since the island’s northern part is always a hot-drop zone, it’s best to move quickly rather than plan ahead.
3) East of Beach Bash (Landmark) to the southwest of Reality Tree and northwest of Greasy Grove
This Plane spawn location in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4, is hard to find, but its easy t to do. From the Reality Tree or the Greasy Grove, it’s about the same distance.
If a player lands at Reality Tree, they can walk through the forest to the runway platform. If you choose to land in Greasy Grove, you can get ready, turn to The Driftwood, anchored nearby, and use the balloons on top of the pirate ship to turn. Since it is close to the landing platform, getting there won’t take long.
Since Alteration Altars make the Reality biome a hot-drop area, players may always be under fire from other players. As they move toward the runway platform, the thick vegetation in the biome protects them from the projectiles coming at them.
When will Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 get Planes (X-4 Stormwings/Biplanes)?
Planes were supposed to be added today, October 25, 2022, but it looks like the update has been put off until the end of Fortnitemares. As the Week 6 “Take a Biplane through a Rift” challenge requires players to use them in-game, it may still be possible to add them with a hotfix.
We don’t know what will happen. Biplanes will likely be added, as well as more runway platforms. By the end of Chapter 3, Season 4, it looks like there will be between four and five of them.
