WHO IS GARY PLAUCHE?
Known for publicly killing Jeff Doucet, who had kidnapped, raped, and assaulted Plauché’s preteen son Jody, Leon Gary Plauché (November 10, 1945 – October 23, 2014) was an American man. On Friday, March 16, 1984, a local news crew was there to film the murder.
Plauché received a seven-year suspended sentence for the deadly shooting, which included five years of probation, 300 hours of community service, and no time in prison. People were divided on whether or not Plauché should have been prosecuted for murder. Therefore, the case got a lot of media attention. Plauché insisted he was justified, arguing that anyone in his position would have done the same thing because Gary Plauche was emotionally attached to his child and wanted to revenge on the child.

Without warning, Gary turned and fatally shot Doucet in the head, effectively ending the case.
