In The Memory of Army Public School ( APS ) Martyrs, ISPR just released a new song. “Humain Agay He Jana hai” by Zayer Ali Bagga.
APS MARTYRS DAY | Army Public School Peshawar.
December 16th in 2014, heavily Armed group of TTP Attacked the Army Public School in Peshawar. They killed at least 140 people, mainly children. Armed with assault rifles and with explosives, the fighters killed indiscriminately.
Witnesses Narratives.
At around 10:30 am, I went down from hall to the bathroom. At 10:36 am a fire started, and when I left the bathroom, the terrorists were there in front of me. ( A lucky child from APS, who was successful to make)
There was a small classroom with 24 children and a teacher. So I went inside and hide. Once inside, I barricade myself with them. Some of the kids who were injured, they somehow reached us in the classroom. ( Another survivor of Attack )
Not a Muslim, not a Christian, nor Hindu can do this. Anybody with a heart inside their chest would be scared of even contemplating such an act. Believe me, as we were working, tears were literally pouring from our eyes. Says Paramedic at the scene.
Short Introduction and Background.
The city of Peshawar is no stranger to terrorism. It’s situated next to Pakistan’s tribal areas. Which borders Afghanistan. This region of Pakistan is dominated by Pashtoons. Since 2004, this northern region has been the site of a continuing conflict. Which has seen an army fighting with Pakistani Taliban ( A basically similar but apparently different group than Afgan Taliban )? Till date, this largely escalated war killed an estimated 70 thousand Pakistani civilian People.
The school massacre represents a new level of barbarity.
MULLAH Fazalullah had taken the responsibility for the incident by broadcasting a video message.
Aftermath:
The sad incident started a new stream unity and eagerness to fight terror all over the country and in the military. The ongoing anti-terrorism operation became heat up. A massive displacement of tribal people took place to avoid innocent casualties. Pakistani army started hunting the terrorists with a new force. An estimated number of 32 thousand terrorists were in the area. Many of them surrender and others were killed in military operations.
The mastermind of Army Public School was killed in an air strike by Pakistan army.
Peace is restored in most of the tribal areas. The army is having complete control and IDPs have started to return back into their homes. 2018 was the safest year in 2 decades since 9/11.
