Will there be a New Year’s event in Fortnite in 2023? Yes, a small event in the game will mark the beginning of the new year. But this won’t be much of an “event.” Instead, it will be more of a show in the game. Players won’t be able to do anything with any of the assets shown now.
Also, they won’t have to wait in line in a separate lobby to see the show when it happens. This will occur during a standard match, and everyone who is there at the time will see it happen live.

During the Fortnite New Year event, what can players expect to see?
When the clock strikes midnight in the Eastern Time Zone on January 31, 2022, a mini-New Year’s event will happen in the game, just like it does every year. Before the countdown to 2023 starts, a giant disco ball will fall from the sky through a hole.
When the timer runs out, the Boogie Bomb effect will happen to everyone on the map, friends, and foes. They’ll stop doing whatever they’re doing and dance for a few seconds.
During this time, they won’t be able to use any items, weapons, or game mechanics, including Sprint and the recently added Reality Augments. They’ll be able to do nothing but walk around the map. Fireworks will also be shown, along with a giant disco ball that spins in the sky.
At the end of the party, the disco ball explodes, and right after that, a vast firework goes off in the background.
The year 2023 will be written next to a vast Loot Llama that will appear in the sky. In-game, everything will go back to normal after a few seconds.
Epic Games hasn’t announced this Fortnite New Year event on their social media channels yet, but it will happen because it’s already in the game files and was added during the v23.10 update.
Still, players from places like India, Australia, Dubai, and Malaysia will find the times strange. Unless Epic Games plans to have the events happen at different times in different places, the Fortnite New Year event will occur in the middle of the day.

Will players get any free gifts during the Fortnite New Year event in 2023?
There is no information about a possible New Year’s gift right now. Also, since Winterfest 2022 was shut down early by the developers, it’s unlikely that a freebie will be waiting around the corner.
Only people signed up for the Crew will be sure to get a gift. They will get the Photonic and Zen Legacy Sets to the next level. But Crew is a paid service. It’s unclear what “free” means.
So, players should pick up all of the gifts from Winterfest 2022 at Cozy Lodge before January 3, 2023. They should also go to the Item Shop and get the Guff Gringle skin. These freebies can appear as New Year’s gifts even if you don’t need them.
