At least two people have been killed in northeastern India in protests against contentious new legislation. It will give non-Muslim immigrants from some neighbouring countries a path to citizenship. Indian parliament and the Senate has passed the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), a new law that will make it easier for non-Muslim minorities from neighbouring countries to gain Indian citizenship.
