When the 49ers’ offence got back on the field, Brock Purdy, a rookie, took over as quarterback. On Sunday, the 49ers didn’t have a third quarterback.
On the first drive, Purdy did a great job filling in. He led the 49ers down the field and threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to fullback Kyle Juszczyk to put the 49ers ahead.
If something goes wrong with Purdy on Sunday, Juszczyk is the backup quarterback.
Jacob Eason is the 49ers’ only other quarterback, but he is on the practice squad and not playing.

WHO IS JIMMY GAROPPOLO?
James Richard Garoppolo was born on November 2, 1991. He is a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. His nickname is “Jimmy G.” (NFL). He went to college in Eastern Illinois and played football there. As a senior, he won the Walter Payton Award and set school records for passing yards and touchdowns. The New England Patriots picked Garoppolo in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He spent his first four years as Tom Brady’s backup.
