Allegation on Jose Alba
After Alba allegedly grabbed Simon’s girlfriend’s daughter’s hand and returned a bag of chips that Simon’s girlfriend couldn’t pay for, Simon approached Alba at the Bluemoon store in Harlem at the end of July to discuss the incident.
The New York Post has obtained the latest video of the fight, in which Alba candodge Simon’s confrontation
Alba says to Simon, who appears to be the aggressor as he enters the back area behind the counter and growls, “Dad, I don’t want any trouble, dad.”
In the initial security tape, Simon appears to grasp Alba by the neck and try to lead her out of the back room behind the counter. Finally, Alba picks up a dagger and stabs Simon.
Jose Alba Arrested
The day after the fatal battle, Alba was arrested and charged with second-degree murder; she later transferred to Rikers Island on $250,000 bail. Alba was released from jail on Thursday after his bail was reduced to $50,000 by prosecutors. The matter scheduled to go before a grand jury on July 20.
Founder of the Bodega and Small Business Group,, Francisco Marte, told the Post that Alba is “extremely remorseful about what occurred.”
A threat to his life was something he was well aware. He was able to look out for himself, as Marte explained to the media, “Or we would try to bury him today.”
