Julian Edelman’s April Fool Day Tweet

Julian Edelman’s Twitter account may have given you a pleasant surprise if you didn’t realise it was Friday morning.

    Who is Julian Edelman?

Julian Francis Edelman (born May 22, 1986) is a former American footballer wide receiver who played in the National Football league (NFL) for 12 seasons with the New England Patriots. He played quarterback at Kent State and was selected in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL draft by the Patriots, where he transitioned to a return special and wide receiver. Edelman became a primary offensive starter in 2013 and was a staple of the Patriots’ receiving corps until his retirement after the 2020 season.

The retired former New England Patriots wide receiver “announced” on Twitter that he’d join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to reunite with quarterback Tom Brady.

Julian Edelman teased Patriots fans a little bit a few weeks back. The dude went all out on April Fools’ Day.

Friday, however, is April Fools’ Day.

And now, Edelman is just playing a joke on Patriots supporters.

On Friday, April 1st, Edelman released a graphic, which is the day for sanctioned goofs and pranks. It is announced in that graphic that he will join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

     Jules, that’s not cool.

While retweeting one of Tom Brady’s flashy social media films, Edelman teased his fans by inquiring how his knee looked.

Of course, the video was taken a long time ago and does not reflect Edelman receiving passes from Brady now.

Friday’s post was plainly a joke, but he added the “April Fools” wording at the bottom to emphasise the point.

Since retiring last year, Edelman has coined the tagline “Foxboro Forever.”

He also retired owing to a knee ailment that allowed him to play in only six games in 2020.

As he approaches his 36th birthday, a miraculous knee repair remains sadly improbable.

In that sense, Friday’s ruse was a little easier to swallow for New England fans, because they understood it was a joke right away.

    Still, That’s not cool.

Despite the Bucs’ internet pranks, the three-time Super Bowl champion has not decided to terminate his retirement and join his good friend Tom in the Sunshine State. Even so, the concept alone provided a good dose of enthusiasm for the internet to start the day.
