‘Justice for Zoobia Meer‘ begun Trending after a video became viral which shows a man Arsalan, Brother of Zoobi Meer (Full name Zoobia Meer also called as Zobia Meer), beating his elderly mother (identified as Gulnaz Bebi) for Cash and property. The viral video also shows Arsalan’s wife standing behind him and encouraging him to beat his mother (who is also the mother of Zoobi Meer). Watch the video, below.
According to details, this incident happened in the area of Sadiq Abad police station, Rawalpindi. On July 21, 2020, a girl name Zoobia Meer posted this video on her YouTube channel and asked for public support. Zobia Meer is a residence of Dhoke Ali Akbar, Rawalpindi.
She told that after beating her mother, her brother escaped along with his wife. They also took the cash and papers of the property with them.
“Please share this video because police aren’t taking action And we want justice, She added in the video description.”
Later on, Zoobia Meer shared another video on social in which she told the details about whole incident. Watch her video, below.
In her video statement, Zoobia Meer told that her brother along with his wife beaten her and her mother with the help of wipers and dragged her into the street. Then her brother resisted but she was unable to comete him.
Struggling to save Zoobi, her mother became unconscious. After that she took her mother to hospital with the help of Rescue 1122 (A rescue service in Pakistan). “After we left for hospital He came along with his wife and in-laws and took all the cash and papers of Property, Meer aded in her statement.”
Complaining about the attitude of Rawalpindi police, Meer told that police was not willing to register any complaint against Arsalan. On their complaint, Police detained him for an hour then released him.
Social Media Appeals Justice for Zoobia Meer
People on social media responded to the appeal of Zobia Meer and started raising their voice in order to push Punjab police to take action and provide Justice for Zoobia Meer.
A Twitter user shared the photo of Zobia Meer’s brother and his wife and wrote: “I don’t have words for this, I’ll just say, He doesn’t have any rights to be Called human and to live, Allah esy darindoun ko is Duniya se Garak farmaye.”
Twitter user ‘its hunny’ wrote: “This Cruel man beaten her own mother. Just saw the video. Disgusting. I lost my faith on humanity. Jis Mulk me olaad apny hi Maan baap k saath ye kry kia wahan Khuda ki Rehmat ho sakti hy?? But surely, ye duniya مکافاتِ عمل hai…… Or is chakki me sb pisty hen”.
Rawalpindi Police Responded Social Media’s pressure
Following the public pressure, Punjab police took notice of the incident and said: “Rawalpindi police have registered the first investigation report (FIR) of this incident and Culprit (Arsalan) will be arrested soon.”
After the statement from Punjab police, a Twitter user ‘Phupho’ tagged the official Twitter account of Punjab police and wrote “Make sure to punish the culprit.
His mother and sister might try to get him off the hook, don’t as he might abuse them again. #zoobiameer.”
