WHO WAS THE ZOOKEEPER?
Jose de Jesus, who was 23 years old, was the keeper. He died in a hospital after the attack in Periban, which is in western Mexico. In the video, Jose can be seen calling the Bengal tiger to a chain link fence. But as soon as he touched the beast’s neck, it changed its mind and bit his right hand. As Jose screams in pain, the tiger pulls his hand toward its jaws and razor-sharp teeth.
