BJP’s MLA from Uttar Pradesh, Nand Kishore Gurjar said in a statement: “Muslims should Sacrifice their kids, not the animals on this Eid Al Adha.”
Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh (India), According to details, A BJP leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Uttar Pradesh has sent a hate message to the Muslims asking them to sacrifice their children instead of animals on Eid-ul-Azha (Eid-al-Adha).
Nand Kishore, the BJP MLA from Loni assembly constituency in Ghaziabad, made these remarks at a time when the international community is pressing for more freedom for minorities in India which was recently marked in the list of countries with Particular concerns by USCIRF.
He also claimed that “meat spreads coronavirus” so people should not be allowed to sacrifice animals.
“People who want to sacrifice on Eid should sacrifice their children. I will not let people consume meat and alcohol in Loni. We will not let people sacrifice innocent animals because meat spreads coronavirus,” the BJP legislator said while speaking to reporters.
The statement of Nand Kishore Gurjar sparked an outrage among the muslims in India. An Indian Twitter user wrote: tweet reads “Loni MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar’s statement from Qurbani is against the Indian Constitution. The President of the party should resign from it.”
