Rahul Dev, a youth from Tharparkar, a Backward but largest district of Sindh Province, is First Hindu pilot to serve as General Duty pilot officer in Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
Islamabad: For the first time in Pakistan’s history, a Hindu youth has been recruited as a fighter pilot in Pakistan Air force. The youth named Rahul Dev has been recruited as a general duty pilot officer (most of them are fighter pilots) in the Pakistan Air Force.
According to details, Rahul Dev hails from Tharparkar, the largest district in Sindh province, where a large population of the Hindu community resides.
Since the creation of Pakistan, minorities in Pakistan always served on high government posts and enjoyed positions in the senior bureaucracy of Pakistan. Earlier in the past, a prominent name of Pakistan’s history, Rana Bahubhali Bhagwandas, was a Hindu Pakistani jurist who served as a senior judge and acting chief justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He enjoyed an extremely high reputation as a judge.
All Pakistan Hindu Panchayat Secretary Ravi Dawani expressed happiness over Dev’s appointment. He said many members of the minority community are serving in the civil service as well as the army.
Many doctors in the country also belong to the Hindu community. He said that if the government continues to focus on the minorities, then in the coming days many Rahul Devs will be ready to serve the country.
As the News of Rahul Dev broke on media, people inside Pakistan and even foreigners were cheering Rahul on his recruitment in Pakistan Air force.
A Twitter user Tulsi Raj Balani congratulated the young man and wrote in a tweet, her Tweet Reads: “Well-done Thar, without water, food, without employment, doctors & hospitals, you have given us another gift. Congrats to Rahul Dev on his selection as GD Pilot in Pakistan Air Force (PAF). We hope/pray more of our meritorious minorities get success in all fields.”
