Hundreds of Finnish women posted videos of themselves dancing and partying on social media to show support for Prime Minister Sanna Marin after a video of her dancing at a private house party caused a scandal.
Memes with the hashtag #solidarity show the women dancing and having fun with their friends. When two videos of the prime minister singing and dancing at a party with friends and having fun in a private VIP room of a well-known club in Helsinki were released, the prime minister was criticized for her behavior. This was when Sanna came to the public’s attention.

Who is Sanna Marin?
Finnish politician Sanna Mirella Marin was born on November 16th, 1985. She has served as Finland’s prime minister since 2019. Since 2015, she’s served as Finland’s parliamentarian and representative for the Social Democratic Party (SDP). After the postal strike scandal, Prime Minister Antti Rinne resigned. New Prime Minister Mari was selected on December 8th, 2019. At age 34, she became the youngest head of state in Finland’s history. Moreover, she is the world’s third-youngest head of state, following Montenegro’s Dritan Abazovi and Chile’s Gabriel Boric.

Finnish lawmaker Mikko Karna of Marin’s coalition partner, the Centre Party, has requested that Marin submit a drug test and release the results to the public. It’s not surprising to hear that from their prime minister, he tweeted.
In a press appearance on Thursday morning, Marin flatly denied drug use and claimed she had “nothing to hide or cover up.”
“I have danced, sung, celebrated, and done lawful things,” the prime minister remarked. Indeed, Marin said that she did not partake in excessive alcohol consumption.
And she pursued the leaker, too. Since the recordings were shot at a private function, Marin reasoned, “I felt they wouldn’t be made public.” What a shame that they’ve been released to the public.
The 36-year-old prime minister has been criticized by some online for what they regard as irresponsible behavior, while others see an opportunity for him to win over more supporters.
In December last year, a government worker tested positive for coronavirus, and Marin got in trouble for going out that night.
