The world is full of discrimination over colour, race and gender. Recently, the same thing happened on Sesame street a cartoon character ignored black kids and the video gets viral on social media with the name “sesame street video” and “Sesame Place viral video”
Digital strategist Leslie Mac shared a video from her daughter Paige’s 4th birthday party over the weekend on Twitter early on Sunday morning. In the nine-second clip, Paige and another little Black girl stand on the sidelines of the parade of characters and reach out to a performer dressed as Rosita. Rosita gives high-fives to other people in the park before waving Paige and her friend off and shaking her head as she walks away.
Sesame Workshop Caught doing Discrimination
Recently, in the sesame workshop, cartoon characters discriminated against black kids. In the video, we saw that t when black kids were waving to them they were ignoring the kids and hugging the white kids.
It shows two girls with pink and blue backpacks eagerly waiting for “Rosita.” The smaller girl is reaching out to hug her friend. As the character comes closer, the other person puts out her hand.
You can see the character walking in a parade and giving high-fives to what looks like a white child and adult.
She looks into the crowd and shakes her finger in a “no” sign a few seconds before she gets to the girls. Then she looks at the girls and shakes her head and hand as if to say “no.”
Many influencers and Hollywood stars get into it and criticize the sesame team for this racism. Kids are kind hearts no one should do this with the kids. This news organization tried to reach out to the mother who posted the video on Twitter, but it didn’t work.
But on social media, she says that “Rosie” went on to hug other white kids waiting for the parade, including a white girl who was standing next to her daughters.
But on Sunday, Sesame Place said on its Instagram account that the snub wasn’t on purpose and that the park and its operators “do not tolerate any behaviours” that go against their commitment to “inclusivity and equality in all forms.”
In a statement, the park said it was sorry for the slight and that it was caused by a wardrobe malfunction.
Officials at the park said that the costumes performers wear sometimes make it hard to see from lower levels, which means that sometimes guests who want hugs don’t get them.
Its goal is to make kids “smarter, stronger, and nicer.”
The Tweet said, “What these kids went through is not okay.” “We’ve talked to Sesame Place, our licenced park partner, and they’ve told us they’ll do training on bias and a thorough review of how they interact with families and guests.”
The allegations that they just tweeted to improve their reputation they didn’t do anything for the kids or they cut off email communication.
People on tweeter are very angry about sesame. Because there is no one who likes racism. Kids are not someone to show racism. Netizens critizes sesame [place at every end after the alleged racism sesame street video leaked on social media platforms.
Let’s explore some users’ reactions.
One user tweeted:
“The character could have just waved to everyone or kept walking, but to look at my kids and say no! He looked at them and told them no!! So humiliating and painful. I’m going to share this video every day until the problem is solved.”
