Shannon Spruill aka Daffney Unger is currently trending online after she posted an Instagram live video of herself holding a gun and talking about suicide.

Police was not able to locate Daffney Unger after she posted the disturbing video on Instagram Live last night until the family of her announced that Daffney Unger (Shannon Spruill) died at the age of 46, last night.

SHIMMER Wrestling announced Thursday that the family of former WCW and TNA wrestler Shannon Spruill, who wrestled as Daffney Unger, informed the promotion that she had died at the age of 46.

Just a night before her death, Daffney Unger (Shannon Spruill) came live on Instagram where she was seen reading a piece of note which can be described as a suicide note, she was also having a gun nearby which was visible through her live Instagram video.

Daffney Unger looked to be in a state of emotional distress and may have been holding a gun at one point. She was crying throughout the video and said she was “all alone.”

Daffney also said “I’m sorry” repeatedly and at the end of the video she said, “Remember, my brain goes to Boston.”

The Instagram live video has been disappeared from Daffney Unger’s Instagram. However the purported video has been shared on Twitter and YouTube in order to gain support for her.

Former WCW Star Daffney Unger Dies At Age 46, Shannon Spruill aka Daffney Unger cause of death, life and Career

Daffney left wrestling fans and fellow wrestlers concerned for her health after posting a video on Instagram live Wednesday night in which she appeared to suggest she was considering suicide.

On Thursday, TMZ Sports provided an update on Daffney after reaching out to the Gwinnett County Police.

Police said they made attempts to contact Daffney, including showing up at one of her old addresses, but had been unable to locate her as of Thursday morning.

After the video surfaced, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley took to Twitter and called for anyone with ties to Daffney to attempt to reach out to her:

Foley noted that his calls to Daffney went straight to voicemail.

On Thursday (02.09.21), her friend Lexie Fyfe tweeted: “We are very sad to have to announce the passing of Shannon Spruill aka Daffney Unger.

“I will miss you my logical sister from another mister.”

Her mother added on Facebook: “It is with great sadness I have to let you know that my daughter Shannon Spruill … Scream Queen Daff, passed away suddenly last night. Absolutely heartbroken.”

Daffney Unger’s cause of death hasn’t determined yet and her family didn’t exposed the details of her death. Following the last Instagram live video of Daffney Unger, people suspect that Daffney Unger’s cause of death could be the suicide. However, no official confirmation has been made yet whether she died by suicide or something else.

Shannon Claire Spruill was an American professional wrestler, valet, and actress, better known by her ring name Daffney. Daffney began her professional wrestling career in World Championship Wrestling in 1999.

Daffney Unger is perhaps best known to wrestling fans for her tenure in WCW from 1999 to 2001. She was initially aligned with David Flair and Crowbar, and she eventually went on to win the Cruiserweight Championship, making her one of only two women to win that title in WCW.
