Each year, nearly 150,000 people are diagnosed with cancer. But there is no fully equipped Government hospital for the treatment of cancer. Most of the people can’t even feel that they have cancer until it reaches on dangerous states. Because there are so many types of this disease.
Before 1994, 95 per cent of cancer patients were unable to afford the treatment. Rest 5% used to leave the country for treatment. On December 29, 1994, A dream turned into reality. Dream of a man who learned to never give up. Shaukat Khanum Cancer hospital was a completion of the dream of Cricketer turn into Politician and now Prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.
My mother was diagnosed cancer, and I took her to england for treatment. ThEre i realised how those people suffer in Pakistan who can’t afford to pay for the treatment of cancer or gOiNg abroad. Then i realised that i should build a cancer hospital in Pakistan, where poor people could get free treatment as much Possible. Imran khan.
Khan says that he had only 10 million in his account, but started a project which will cast 700 million Rupees. But during three years of construction of Shaukat Khanum Cancer hospital, work never stop because of money storage.

Until December 2017, Total 2,379 039 outpatients visited. 160,58 patients made registrations and 134,237 patients got admission in Shaukat Khanum Cancer hospital Lahore. 530,543 patients received chemotherapy treatments and 114,428 patients have been surgically operated. However, 850,850 patients received Radiation therapy. Total 48,08,119 pathology tests were carried out and 16,138,415 pharmacies dispensing were given. Source of Statistics.

The journey of Imran Khan didn’t just stop here in Lahore. He built a cancer hospital in Peshawar Also and now planning to build another state of the art cancer hospital in the biggest city of Pakistan, Karachi.
