The shovel girl video is getting viral on social media platforms. Two girls fight to have fun, but that fun becomes a crime.
As a result of their appearance in the viral “Shovel girl video,” two young women have been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct for their involvement in the altercation. On Tuesday, the Miami County Juvenile Court received charges against both girls for their involvement in a fight.
During the struggle, one of the girls in the video gets hit in the head with a shovel. The video went viral last week, prompting an inquiry by the sheriff of Miami County, Florida.
According to Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Maj. Steve Lord, the department first verified the authenticity of the footage.
Miranda Shovel’s girl video came into the limelight after the case was filed against the girl hitting her with the shovel.

Shovel Girl Video Explained
Two girls are fighting for fun, and their video starts getting viral on social media platforms by the name of a shovel girl video, and people start criticizing it.
Josh Officer, 14, of Tipp City, who used his cell phone to record the event on May 4, said it was real. “It was a tough battle. People thought the Dr. Drew Show was fake and all that. It was a real thing. Since about a year ago, they’ve wanted to fight.”
Miranda Fugate, from Vandalia, and Emily Olinger, from Bethel Twp., started arguing about a guy they knew. The same age as Fugate and Olinger.
Officer said that the two girls were fighting in Olinger’s yard, which is what the video shows. Nearly seven minutes into the video, Fugate can be seen chasing after Olinger, who is heading for a door to a house. When Fugate sees Olinger holding a shovel, she stops and turns around. Fugate runs away, and Olinger throws the shovel, hitting Fugate in the back of the head. Fugate then gets knocked down.
“I told her again to leave, but she didn’t. The first thing I saw after that was my shovel. I grabbed it, and she said, “OK, OK.” By the time she was done, I had already hit her with it, “Olinger had said. “I’ve been picked on since the fourth grade, so I hit her with the shovel because I was sick of it.”
Fugate, known online as “Shovel Girl,” went to a hospital. She said that the hit gave her a concussion, made her deaf in one ear, and made it possible that she might need surgery.
Fugate said, “She was angry because she lost, so she grabbed the shovel.”
Lord said he watched the video and that what he saw was scary.
“When we have these kinds of videos, we need to look into them to make sure they’re real and not staged,” he said, adding that when people post videos of themselves or others breaking the law, law enforcement will have a better chance of finding out about the behavior.
Police Filed a case Against the Shovel Girl video.
A truancy officer in Miami County, Florida, saw the video on YouTube and told the authorities what he saw. Because of this, a Bethel High School administrator told the sheriff’s office about what happened.
After talking to the people involved, the sheriff’s office went to the prosecutor’s office to file charges. Lord said, “If you start hitting people in the head with a shovel, it could kill them.”
When asked how she felt when she found out that her son, Josh Officer, shot the video, Martha Allison said, “I thought he was just a kid doing what he knows how to do best. I don’t think he cared about it at all. I haven’t talked with him about it. We’re mostly happy about how well-known and big it has become.”
They said, “People always post fights on my Facebook, which is why I recorded one: I wanted to be like everyone else and post a fight, watch it, and get 50 likes or something. But it ended up with 82,000 likes and other things, and now TMZ and MTV are calling me.”
