During an interview with a private channel, the famous Shea scholar Alama Zameer Akhtar Naqvi tried to explain the history of the Macedonian conqueror Alexander the Great and his invasion of the sub-continent.
Alama Zameer Akhtar Naqvi revealed that a mosquito bit Alexander the Great at the place which is now called Malir, in Karachi. This is why the area was named as Malir because that mosquito causes malaria.
