Media is screaming that Pakistan is facing a crisis of wheat and flour. Media is claiming that Flour became so expensive that poor people can’t buy it. However, the government is denying these accusations of Media and opposition and claiming that Flour is available in all country at the same usual price.

But in April 2019, a in Sukkur, Sindh. A team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) raided Govt godowns in Kandhkot and Kashmor (Sindh province) and found wheat worth Rs 1.20 billion missing. As everyone is well aware that April is the month when the fresh stock of wheat starts to arrive in godowns from the fields (Wheat harvesting season).
Pakistan is an agricultural country and each year, Pakistan produces enough wheat to feed the whole population for even more than a year. After knowing the facts about Pakistan’s wheat production, it seems quite strange that we are facing a wheat and flour crisis.
If there is a real crisis of flour in the whole country, We can accuse the government of mismanagement. But is it the fault of the federal government in whole? I wouldn’t feel ashamed to say that Incidents similar to above play a major role in this type of crisis.
