On Wednesday, December 18, the Indian army Cheif signalled to escalate the tension along line of control (LOC). In a statement before media, Indian army Cheif Bipin Rawat said: “The situation along the LoC can escalate any time. We have to be prepared for the spiralling of the escalators matrix”.
It seems that India is wishing to try another misadventure with Pakistan in order to divert the attention of the world away from its internal chaos.
During the past week, riots have been erupted in New Delhi, Assam, West Bengal and several other States of India following the Citizenship amendment Bill (CAB). Thousands of Muslims along with other minorities are protesting against New Citizenship act just passed in India which discriminates Muslims from Hindus.
The protests in Several cities of India, turned violent after the Indian security forces tried to crush the protests by using brutal force which escalated the situation even worst. Global communities have serious concerns over the situation of minorities in India. In these circumstances, the Indian government need an issue to divert the attention away from its internal matters. The statement of the Indian Army Cheif could be a signal of India’s upcoming misadventure similar to past.
