Smoldering Embers in Ragnarok – Where to find it?

God of War Ragnarok has weapons and collectibles across the Nine Realms. These weapons and items can be upgraded by using rare materials hidden in chests all over the game to make them stronger and do more damage. This guide is all about one of these items, called Smoldering Embers, which can be challenging for a new adventurer to get.

    Smoldering Embers in Ragnarok

In God of War Ragnarok, Smoldering Embers can be found in the realm of Muspelheim.

Smoldering Embers are a rare crafting material that can only be found in the fiery realm of Muspelheim. This realm is usually locked and can only be unlocked by finding two halves of seed in Svartalfheim.

Once a player enters the realm of fire, they must complete different trials and challenges to unlock chests that contain Smoldering Embers. Before you can start the Final Challenges, you have to finish the following trials:

    • Weapon Mastery
    • Flawless
    • Ring Out
    • Feed the Rift
    • Population Control
    • King of The Hill

These Final Challenges are very hard, and it’s strongly suggested that you use an endgame-ready Kratos.

In God of War Ragnarok, how many Smoldering Embers can you collect?

The amount of Smoldering Embers you must collect in the trials can change depending on how well you do in these battles. The Embers are split into the following tiers based on how players are ranked:

    • Bronze Tier: 20 Smoldering Embers
    • Silver Tier: 35 Smoldering Embers
    • Gold Tier: 50 Smoldering Embers

Each tier is more complex than the one before it and takes more skill to finish. Luckily, the most challenging mode can be played more than once, so it can be used to farm this resource.

Why is God of War Ragnarok important?

God of War Ragnarok will come out on November 9, 2022. It is the follow-up to God of War (2018), a “soft reboot” of the long-running PlayStation franchise.

In the new book in the series, Kratos and his son Atreus fight against a prophecy in old Scandinavia. Since Kratos killed the Aesir god Bladur in the first game, Fimbulwinter has started, and Ragnarok is coming soon, as was predicted. Now, Kratos and Atreus have to find Tyr and figure out how to stop the end of the world.

This action-adventure hack-and-slash game has improved combat and movement, and there are more types of enemies than in the last game, which was a big problem.

Kratos’ exploration of Norse mythology comes to a close with Ragnarok. When this article was written, no other plans had been made public.

God of War Ragnarok was released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, and PlayStation 5 home consoles. It was the first game in the series to be released on consoles from different generations. Also, it was a top contender for Game of the Year in 2022, but Elden Ring won by a small amount.
