The Taliban claim to have shot down a specialized Air Force E-11A Communications Aircraft in Afghanistan. Major Beth Riordan spokesman for US Central Command states, “U.S. Central Command is aware of the reports of a U.S. aircraft crash in Afghanistan.”
Zabihullah Mujahed, a spokesman for the Taliban says it shot down the special US Aircraft and that, “All onboard including high-ranking CIA officers were killed.”
US Forces Afghanistan (USFOR-A) also stated the E-11A crashed but denied that the Taliban shot it down.
