- Ghibli Maserati: -56.3%
- -54% for Jaguar XF
- QX80 from Infiniti: -52.6%
- ESV for a Cadillac Escalade: 52.3%
- S-Class Mercedes-Benz: 51.9%
- -51.9% for Lincoln Navigator
- Audi A6: -51.5%
- S90 Volvo: -51.4%
- Expedition Ford: -50.7%
Midsize trucks, sports cars, and fuel-efficient vehicles showed the slowest depreciation over five years, according to iSeeCars’ research. Still, luxury brands lose value considerably more quickly. According to Executive Analyst Karl Brauer of iSeeCars, used buyers don’t place as much importance on high-end vehicles’ amenities as the original owners do. Hence resale values are frequently lower. The technology and extras that made the cars so pricey and alluring when they were new don’t provide the same value when they are sold used.

It’s interesting to note that electric cars also experienced significant depreciation, though they fell far short of the appalling figures in the luxury classes. The Nissan Leaf experienced the most EV depreciation, falling by 49.1 per cent. The Tesla Model S and Model X come under the bar at 43.7 and 38.8 percent, respectively, while the average EV depreciation is 44.2 percent.
