Devise verification system ( DVS ) of PTA , the Pakistan telecommunications authority has desided to block all smuggled mobile phones insides Pakistan. The measures are being taken to prevent illegal activities by use of these non registered mobile phones. Also the smuggled phones giving am huge loss to local businessmen and Pakistan’s economy. watch a review why it is necessary to block unregistered phones.
GOVERNMENT once decided to block all unregistered phones at 20th of October. But later on they extended the period until 1st of December 2018.

Remember that, those people who are using their phones already, I mean those who have made even a single call or sms by their phone, don’t have to worry at all. Their phone’s IMEI is already registered with PTA device verification system . But those phones who were never used before 1st December 2018, for example phones in shops or in stock and if they are not compliant will be blocked. If you are buying any phone after 1st December, confirm its registration by sending its IMEI on (8484). If you get reply (non compliant) then don’t buy it.

Overseas Pakistani/ PROCEDURE and Policy of Dvs when they coming to Pakistan.
Government of Pakistan has updated its policy for overseas Pakistani who are living abroad. According to new rules, anyone who is coming inside Pakistan from abroad, will be allow only one personal phone without any tax or duty. With this one phone, he will be allow to bring 4 more phones as gifts for his family. But he will have to pay a normal tax (duty) on these 4 extra phones. If he bring more than 4 phones in a year then he will pay commercial duty rates.
How overseas travellers can register with Dvs / DIRBS
When you will arrive at any international airport. You will go to designated counters and will tell them to register your phone with DVS. They will do it for your personal phone for free. But if you have more than one phone. You will pay tax and get your phone registered.
If you will not pass from this procedure, your phone will have no network coverage inside Pakistan.
