Zoobia Meer tells about the incident of domestic violence committed by her brother against her and her mother

Zoobia Meer revealed in a video message that her brother (Name: Arsalan) has beaten her and her mother (Name: Gulnaz Bebi) with the help of wiper and sticks. “He kept beating me and my mother until my mother became unconscious, Zoobia Meer told in a video statement. “I rushed my mother to Hospital with the help of rescue 1122. My brother along with his wife and in-laws, came home after we left and took all the money and documents of our property, Zoobi Meer added.”

Complaining about the attitude of Rawalpindi police, she said Police detained my brother on out complainant but released him after an hour.

Earlier on July 21, 2020, a girl Zoobia Meer (also known as Zoobi Meer) from Rawalpindi, shared a video on her YouTube channel and appealed for public support in availing justice for her and her mother who became victims of domestic violence by her brother Arsalan.

The video, shared by Zoobi Meer, shows Arsalan beating his mother while his wife standing behind, encouraging him for more violence. The video went viral on social media and sparked massive outrage among the public.

Facing public pressures, Rawalpindi police have registered an FIR in Sadiq Abad police station against accused Arsalan. However, Arsalan and his wife haven’t been arrested yet as they are hiding at some unknown place.

Statement issued by Rawalpindi police on the incident of Violence against Zoobi Meer and her mother

Rawalpindi Police said in a statement: “City Police Officer Muhammad Ahsan Younas has taken stern notice of the incident and sought a report from SP Rawal Division. A case has been registered, culprits responsible for the abuse shall be arrested and brought to justice accordingly.”
