“When the swing went up, we saw people fall off it. “Children and women were sitting in it,” a woman said, adding that the people at the carnival helped take the hurt to hospitals.

Local news station NDTV said that the ride was a “drop tower” that broke at a fair in Mohali. Which is a district in the Indian state of Punjab. It broke down at about 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, the news station said.
The attraction had a tower and a round platform that went up the tower and turned as it went up. When it got to the top, it fell quickly and hit the bottom of the ride.
About 50 people were on the 50-foot-tall attraction, and half of them were hurt. It’s a guess that 16 women and children had to go to the hospital.
