A fight on a plane led to a prison sentence for a woman from New York. She got four months for getting in the way of the flight crew on a flight from Dallas to Los Angeles. American Airlines has also asked Kelly Pichardo to pay almost $9,200.

Two American women get caught on camera misbehaving on the flight. Federal prosecutors say that a woman from New York was given a four-month prison sentence for getting in the way of the crew on a flight from Dallas to Los Angeles that had to be rerouted to Phoenix last year.
They said that Kelly Pichardo, who is 30 and from the Bronx, and Leeza Rodriguez, who is 29 and also from the Bronx, were sitting in first class when they started scaring other people on the plane.
When the plane touched down at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on February 24, 2021. Police took both women into custody and took them off the plane.
Authorities said that each of the women attacked a passenger on the flight and used racial slurs when a man told them to stop.

After the FBI and Phoenix police looked into the situation. The two women were charged with disorderly conduct, which included verbally and physically attacking other customers and flight crew members.
After police took the two passengers into custody at Sky Harbor International Airport. The flight to Los Angeles went on as planned.
Prosecutors said that Pichardo had been ordered to pay nearly $9,200 to American Airlines because of the fight.

Allegations on Kelly Pichardo
Kelly Pichardo had already pleaded guilty to the Class C felony charge against her. The department said in the release that Pichardo was also given 36 months of supervised release and had to pay $9,123 back to American Airlines.
Court records show that the sentence was given on August 29.
The release says that Pichardo and her co-“disorderly defendant’s and intimidating behavior” on an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Los Angeles in February 2021 caused the flight to be rerouted to Phoenix so that the two could be taken off the plane.
