Three years after the last update we finally have a new Amazon Fire 7. The e-commerce giant’s tablet comes with a host of features that are welcome these days, like 2GB of RAM, longer battery life, and a USB-C port.
While Amazon is still committed to keeping its Fire 7 tablet good value for money, this upgrade is a bit more expensive than the previous one: it can be had for a starting price of 94.17. The proposal is also accompanied by a version for children.

A renewed tablet (inside)
The new Amazon Fire 7 Kids retains the identity of its predecessor at the design level. We are talking about simple lines, wide frames, and a plastic finish with a weight of 282 grams. Considering its price, the screen is conservative: it is a 7-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1024 x 600 and a density of 171 dpi.
In the performance section, the tablet launches a 2.0 GHz Quad-Core processor. According to Amazon, this chip is 30% faster than the previous one, which also had four cores, but was clocked at 1.3 GHz. This feature is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM, double that of the 2019 Amazon Fire 7, which at that time was already fair.
The internal storage memory is 16 GB, but we will only have about 9.5 Gb of space available for use. There is also a version with 32 GB, which gives us 25 GB of space. It is necessary to remember that we will always have the possibility of expanding the storage with a microSD card, but this means an extra expense.
At the battery level, the manufacturer promises an improvement of 40%, which increases its autonomy by up to 10 hours, although this will depend on our usage habits. The main feature of this section is the new USB-C charging port (the previous model was micro-USB), which will be accompanied by a 5W charger in the box.
We also find a 2 MP front and rear camera, with 720p video recording, mini-jack input (3.5 mm), integrated speakers, Bluetooth compatible with A2DP and LE (Low Energy) accessories, Wi-Fi 802.11 n single and dual-band antenna. Mind you, it doesn’t support Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) currently.

The Amazon Fire 7 (2022) will be available on Amazon from June 29 at a starting price of (Fire 7 Kids $109.99 and Fire 7 $59.99). However, all those interested in the new tablet can pre-order it from today on the Amazon page.
