LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to decide whether to ban PUBG in Pakistan. Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has gained a lot of popularity in the country as the game has been easily accessible on mobile devices.

The petition said that the game had a negative impact on children and their personalities leading to violent tendencies. Furthermore, the petition stated that the PUBG also left a negative impact on the decision making skills of chidlren.

PTA to Ban PUBG in Pakistan

After a division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) headed by Justice Atir Mahmood heard the petition, PTA was directed to decide on the matter of whether to ban PUBG in Pakistan within six weeks.

If Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) does go forward with the ban, Pakistan would not be the first country to take such action against the game as some other countries have already banned the popular online game.
