Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari spreads fake news by a video from India revived as video from Lahore

On August 20, 2020, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, Daughter of Asif Ali Zardari, accused of spreading fake news by of a video of a flood, originally from India, revived as a video of flood in Lahore.

According to details, Twitter user ‘Abdul Majid Kalwar’ shared a video which shows a street flooded, while people are moving through the boats. The Twitter user revived the video as of “flood in Lahore” and wrote, the tweet reads “Thank you Imran Khan and Usman Buzdar for turning #Lahore into Venice.”

Bakhtawar Zardari shared the video on her verified Twitter account ‘Bakhtawar B Zardari’ while making the fun, without knowing the fact that this video originally belongs to India and it was uploaded on YouTube a few days before.

Confronting the fake news, shared by Bakhtawar Zardari, the focal person (Digital media) to CM Punjab, Azhar Mashwani shared the Screenshot of original video published on YouTube and pointed out that tweet of Bakhtawar Zardari is a part of “Fake News campaign” against Punjab government.

Azhar Mashwani is one of those PTI workers who have been accused of Harassment by several female journalists, who keep sharing fake news and being exposed by him and workers like him.
