Ivan Toney has apologised to Brentford supporters after a video leaked on social media in which the striker directed a nasty word at the club.
Toney was crucial in Brentford’s promotion to the Premier League last season, scoring six goals in the campaign.
While on vacation in Dubai during the current international break, when he was partying, Toney was caught saying “f*** Brentford.”
Toney said in his Instagram story: ‘I am aware of a video of me that was published on social media today, taken in Dubai where I have been on holiday during the winter break. In it, I used language that was unacceptable.’
After the footage surfaced on Friday night, Brentford started an investigation.
“Brentford FC is aware of the footage and is looking into it,” said a club spokesman.
