DG ISPR, Sir Asif Ghafoor praised Padukone in a tweet but later on, he deleted the tweet. His tweet reads: ‘Kudos @DeepikiaPadukone for standing both with youth and the truth. You have proved to be a brave person in difficult environment earning respect. Humanity is above everything.
Deepika Padukone was already facing massive outrage from Right-wing Indians and extremist BJP supporters for visiting JNU where students were attacked by Masked ABVP goons on January 5, 2020.
But after the praising words from the spokesperson of Pakistan Army, Indians went pissed off and accused Deepika Padukone as An ISI Agent. They also said that the husband of Deepika Padukone, Ranbeer Singh is also an ISI Agent. An Indian social media user shared his opinion on the Twitter and said: “@deepikapadukone s husband #RanbeerSingh with ISI stooges. #boycottchhapaak #boycottdeepikapadukone #Boycott_Chhapaak.” See his tweet, below.
